Custom Pony - OC "Little Wing"
Commissioned by Little Wing on tumblr: [link]

See the tumblr post here [link] for more pics of this pony. Please try to reblog my tumblr post rather than make your own. Thank you :)

Next is OC Little Wing! No sculpting or anything thank goodness, just a nic clean repaint and a doozy of a cutie mark. Little Wing is yet another franken-bait custom pony, her head is a Twilight Sparkle and her body is Feathermay. I’m so glad when all this mix-and-matching is compatible between customs. But you should see all the dismembered, headless baits lying around my work table, it’s like if Jeffrey Dahmer was a brony.

I really like the red color here. Straight-up red and similar colors aren’t often seen in the show, and they look way too saturated on a FiM-style pony. I messed around with it to make it a bit more muted and in tune with the show’s color key, but still reading very much as red. The royal sisters yin-yang cutie mark was daunting, with all its fine details, but in this case acrylic is a really forgiving medium. You can cover up any mistakes and it’s really easy to paint back into your lines and get precisely the shapes and fine details you want. Very rarely can I just lay down a fine line and be 100% happy with it. I’m constantly painting back into it with with the body color, going back over that with the line color etc. until it’s just the way I want it. I must have done that at least three times on the cutie mark. With enough practice at revisiting your lines, one can easily do fine details without that thin of a brush.

I rehaired her with Toasted Almond dollyhair and thatched the front part of her mane, weaving each hair plug to its opposite side to give her the appearance of bangs without adding any new hair holes. Then poured boiling water right over her head to make the bangs fall straight, and called it a day! Very happy with her.

:iconcommissionsclosed: I am no longer offering custom pony commissions.

I think we could establish a second ponyville with all of our OCs.
